Nintendo Switch Sports: You miss the good old miis? Look closer!
During the Nintendo Direct last week, a spiritual successor of the Wii sports game collection Wii Sports was announced with Nintendo Switch Sports. Here we join in various disciplines such as volleyball or football with each other and make use of the motion detection of the Joy-con.
For many, the scenes should have caused comfortable memories of extensive Wii sessions with Wii Sports. But some disturb a detail that narrows the Nostalgia Flash. Because instead of the stylized Miis, in Switch Sports, much detailed and "comichaftere" avatars ("sportsmates") run around, whose look reminiscent of the highest remote away from the cultural Mii-figurine.
Arrangement about supposed Mii deletion
Accordingly disappointed or even angry some fans showed particularly in social networks. Among other things, it was criticized that the faces of the figures would be the same and not so adaptable in terms of eye movement, mouth, nose, etc.

This would make the revised avatars more like those of Xbox Live Arcade and would have little with the very strongly recognizable stylized Mii figures.
So a reason for grief for loyal Mii-followers? Not really.
Apparently both variants in the game
For those who look at the presentation at the Nintendo Direct exactly will discover that there are still Miis in the game. It becomes clear in the demonstration of the volleyball mini-game by Shinya Takahashi and Yoshiaki Koizumi. The game figures of the two Nintendo employees have the typical Mii faces, in the opposing team you can see the new sportsmates designs.

It looks like you can choose from his figure either for the classic Mii look or for the new sportsmates design. However, apparently only with the faces, the bodies seem to have the new "more realistic" look with every election.
Only from pure interest: Which avatar design is your chest?
